***ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM***
Please be aware that this webinar, 'Sexuality: Common Myths That Undermine Treatment,' contains mature content relating to adult sexual behavior and practices. The material presented contains language and descriptions that some participants may find sensitive and is intended for professional development purposes. Participant discretion is advised.
Most therapists get very little training in sexuality. Without specialized training, clinicians are left to rely on personal experience (which may not be so great), religious beliefs (which may not match our clients’), or the ideas of popular culture. And so most therapists base their interventions regarding sexuality on stereotypes, distortions, and factual errors without knowing it.

In this fast-paced webinar, award-winning sex therapist Dr. Marty Klein will highlight the most common myths therapists have about sexuality—that is, common sources of clinical errors.

You may be surprised to learn, for example, that:
~ Pornography is rarely the actual subject when couples are in conflict about pornography.
~ In roughly half of all heterosexual cases of desire discrepancy, the higher desire partner is female.
~ In cases of infidelity, requiring the Betrayer to disclose every last detail of the affair can destroy the primary relationship.

In cases involving intimacy, power struggles, self-esteem, body image, and infidelity, sexuality is typically an issue. It’s crucial to approach these cases with accurate information, free from popular myths and cultural bias. This program will challenge the way you’ve been dealing with sexual issues—and inspire you to discover and critique beliefs you didn’t even realize you had. And given Marty’s
style, you’ll laugh while you learn—guaranteed.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
~ Identify common narratives and stereotypes about sexuality with clinical implications.
~ Examine the architecture of sexual relationships, identifying common structures with which therapists must be knowledgeable and conversant.
~ Assess the ways in which clients’ sexual distress is a function of sexual issues, and ways in which it reflects other relationship or personality issues.
