Counselor in a School Setting COME AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF CHILDREN! Family Service Society, Inc is interviewing for a 10 month, full-time (35 hours/wk), NYS Licensed Counselor in a school setting (LMSW, LCSW or LMHC). Professional license must be in good standing and current. This position will work within the school district and is responsible for high quality individual and group therapy services for child and family clients including; quality assessments, assessing students social-emotional strengths and needs, complete quarterly treatment plans using evidence-based interventions, timely completion of progress notes, meeting insurance/billing requirements, collaboration with other service providers, and referring clients with identified needs to appropriate community agencies. Clinic-Based Therapist COME AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES! Family Service Society, Inc. is interviewing for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) Clinic-Based Therapist. The Clinic-Based Therapist is responsible for conducting intake assessments, conducting individual, group and family therapy, as well as providing crisis services and making diagnostic determinations. They will make home visits as appropriate. They will develop treatment plans as well as provide other necessary documentation. The Clinic-Based Therapist will interface with local providers and provide linkages to other services as needed.
Essential Responsibilities or Functions of the Position: 1. Responsible for conducting initial intake assessments. 2. Responsible for making diagnostic determinations. 3. Conduct individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy. 4. Provision of crisis intervention services. 5. Develops and maintains accurate and timely client-specific records, reports, billing, treatment plans and progress notes according to all oversight agencies. 6. Responsible for making referrals as deemed appropriate. 7. Will participate in training, supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings. 8. Carries out all other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
The Clinic-Based Therapist must have skill in gathering, interpreting, and reporting information in addition to skills in written and verbal communication. Ability to make work plans and follow through on those plans independently and the ability to identify areas in need of improvement and recommend solutions is a must. The Clinic-Based Therapist will have good time management and organizational skills. Ability to liaison with external agencies is a must. Proficiency in computer skills is needed. The Clinic-Based Therapist must also have the ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, decision-making. Sound clinical judgment and working knowledge of the DSM-IV and DSM-V.
Master’s degree in Social Work or in Mental Health Counseling from a program approved by NYS Education Department is required, with a NYSED professional license as a LMSW, LCSW or LMHC. Experience in working within a multidisciplinary team and a working knowledge and understanding mental health diagnoses preferred. Criminal background check conducted. Must meet the requirements of the School Age Care, Day Care, and/or Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding history of abuse/maltreatment of children.
Forensic Therapist/Social Worker Family Service Society, Inc. has one full-time hourly position available for a Forensic Therapist/Social Worker in the Choice Program, providing out-patient therapeutic services to adults and adolescents who have sex offending behaviors. Position will be based in the Bath office site. Duties include, but are not limited to, co-lead group therapy sessions for adults and individual or family therapy for teens who have sex offending behaviors, complete the adolescent assessments for youth who have caused sexual harm, providing occasional individual or couples sessions, assisting with evaluations, and maintaining communications with legal system. Supervisor will assist right candidate in developing skills needed for this specialized clinical field. Social Worker License required (LMSW, LMHC, no permits). Supervision provided toward clinical licensure and "R" privilege for Social Workers. Good written and verbal communication skills, positive solution-focused attitude, excellent teamwork, and timely and thorough documentation of services are required. NYS Licensed Mental Health Therapists (LMSW, LMHC, LCSW) for upcoming openings. Professional License must be in good standing and current. Therapist is responsible for client assessment, developing a mutually agreed upon treatment plan, and delivery of therapeutically sound interventions to provide outpatient counseling to children, adolescents, and families, in community settings throughout Steuben and/or possibly Allegany County. Therapist will need to utilize their experience, education, age-specific knowledge, and cultural competence to assist children and families in achieving positive and successful outcomes. Supervision provided toward clinical licensure and "R" privilege for Social Workers.
