Administrative Assistant Family Service Society, Inc. is looking for a full-time Administrative Assistant for our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our organization. You will welcome clients and greet people who visit the office. You will also coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. To be successful as an Administrative Assistant, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should also be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. This role may require working 2 evenings per week. Ultimately, an Administrative Assistant’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes clients positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities
Greet and welcome clients as soon as they arrive at the office
Check in clients/check out clients
Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls, as well as perform reminder calls to clients about upcoming appointments
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
Maintain appointments in therapist’s calendars
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as preparing paperwork for next day’s clients, data entry/Clinic Tracker, filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
Collect client payments
Prepare bank deposits
Verify Insurance Coverage -Fidelis
Insurance and client billing
Federal, Sist & Parole billing
Perform duties as instructed by the Office Manager
Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
Professional attitude and appearance
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Excellent organizational skills
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Youth Mentoring of the Southern Tier Corning Site Coordinator CHANGE THE LIFE OF A CHILD THROUGH MENTORING! Family Service Society, Inc. is interviewing for an hourly, part-time Youth Mentoring of the Southern Tier Corning Site Coordinator position linking adolescents in need of social/emotional support with area volunteers. The Site Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing weekly program activities targeted to address the unique needs of youth at risk. Acts as a liaison between Family Service Society and Corning Painted Post School personnel to address program needs and client eligibility. The Site Coordinator provides ongoing support to mentor-mentee matches and documents progress. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience in human services field, public speaking, case management skills and ability to work independently required. The position is 20 hours per week and requires facilitating one to two weekly group meeting between mentees and mentors in the Corning area. Criminal background check conducted. Valid NY State Driver's License, reliable transportation, and auto insurance which meet agency standards are mandatory. EOE

Family Service Society, Inc. is interviewing for hourly, full-time NYS Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMSW, LMHC, LCSW) in the Choice program. The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for high quality therapy services for child clients who are affected by sexual abuse and their family including quality assessments, quarterly treatment plans with evidence-based interventions, progress notes, meeting DSS billing requirements, collaboration with other service providers, and referring clients with identified needs to appropriate community agencies. Professional License must be in good standing and current. Therapist will need to utilize their experience, education, age-specific knowledge, and cultural competence to assist children and families in achieving positive and successful outcomes. Supervision provided toward clinical licensure and "R" privilege for Social Workers. Good written and verbal communication skills, positive solution-focused attitude, excellent teamwork, and timely and thorough documentation of services are required. DV Group Facilitator Family Service Society, Inc has an opening for a Domestic Violence Co-Facilitator. This position is 4 hours a week, Thursdays from 1:30pm - 5:30pm, with the potential for additional hours on Thursdays.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Co-Facilitate Domestic Violence Offender groups.
Assist in the preparation for group topics/exercises.
Hold offenders accountable for their appropriate participation and progress. Assist in communication with the offender’s referral source (County Probation, NYS Parole, DSS) to keep all informed of the client’s attendance, progress, or challenges.
Assist Domestic Violence Coordinator with feedback for monthly reports and eight (8) week evaluations.
If needed, assist with in-depth bio-psychosocial, mental health assessments, and an introductory- eight (8) week- evaluation of appropriateness of intervention.
Notify Domestic Violence Coordinator when time is needed off as soon as possible in order to arrange for back up for the support group.
Complete pertinent administrative documentation/duties on-time within the guidelines of Family Service Society’s policies and procedures (vouchers, mileage, timesheet, monthly reports, etc.)
Uphold confidentiality of all agency and client information, unless required to release information in accordance with Family Service Society’s confidentiality policies and procedures.
Work professionally and respectfully with other agency staff to communicate and promote client treatment including representatives of DSS, County Probation, NYS Parole, etc.
Prepare for weekly group, be prompt and regular in attendance, and provide supervisor with necessary, appropriate material for conference.
Assist the Clinical Director as needed in completion of agency and program required monthly reports on time.
Attend and participate in any training/meetings as required by the Agency and/or program.
Contribute productively to the agency as a whole. Establish and maintain effective, respectful, and appropriate professional relationships with those who receive services, with those who we collaborate with, and receive funding from while promoting all Family Service Society’s services positively in the community.
Adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines of your governing professional organization.
Seek and use supervisor’s help; accepts supervision as helpful; portrays a positive professional attitude towards supervisory authority, requests, and organizational change; ability to recognize need for supervision and how it can be used for professional development, open to exploring own values and effects on own work, work collaboratively to set goals for professional and personal development.

Attend events promoting Family Service Society’s services, meet with agencies and speak to organizations that may have a Family Service Society service need, and distribute Family Service Society’s service pamphlets to agencies.
Perform other related duties as directed or required for the effective and efficient operation of the program as assigned by Clinical Director or Executive Director.
