Forensic Therapist/Social Worker Program Coordinator Family Service Society, Inc. has one full-time hourly position available for a Forensic Therapist/Social Worker in the Choice Program. This position provides out-patient therapeutic services to adults who have sex offending behaviors as well as coordinating the Domestic Violence Program for adults who abuse their partners. Position will be based in our Bath office. Duties include, but are not limited to, assess and evaluate clients for appropriate services, complete psycho-sexual evaluations, co-lead sex offender group therapy and Domestic Violence psycho-educational groups, provide individual therapy as needed, maintaining communications with legal system as well as coordinate care with all services clients receive. Supervisor will assist right candidate in developing skills needed for this specialized clinical field. Social Worker License required (LMSW, LMHC, no permits). Supervision provided toward clinical licensure and "R" privilege for Social Workers. Good written and verbal communication skills, positive solution-focused attitude, reliable and dependable attendance, excellent teamwork, and timely and thorough documentation of services are required. Criminal background check conducted. Valid NY State Driver's License and auto insurance which meet agency standards are mandatory. Reliable transportation is required. EOE
Domestic Violence Co-Facilitator Family Service Society, Inc has an opening for a Domestic Violence Co-Facilitator. This position is 2 hours a week, Thursdays from 4-6pm, with the potential for additional hours on Thursdays.
Assist in the preparation for group topics/exercises. Hold offenders accountable for their appropriate participation and progress. Assist in communication with the offender’s referral source (County Probation, NYS Parole, DSS) to keep all informed of the client’s attendance, progress, or challenges. Assist Domestic Violence Coordinator with feedback for monthly reports and eight (8) week evaluations. If needed, assist with in-depth bio-psychosocial, mental health assessments, and an introductory- eight (8) week- evaluation of appropriateness of intervention. Notify Domestic Violence Coordinator when time is needed off as soon as possible in order to arrange for back up for the support group. Complete pertinent administrative documentation/duties on-time within the guidelines of Family Service Society’s policies and procedures (vouchers, mileage, timesheet, monthly reports, etc.) Uphold confidentiality of all agency and client information, unless required to release information in accordance with Family Service Society’s confidentiality policies and procedures. Work professionally and respectfully with other agency staff to communicate and promote client treatment including representatives of DSS, County Probation, NYS Parole, etc. Prepare for weekly group, be prompt and regular in attendance, and provide supervisor with necessary, appropriate material for conference. Assist the Clinical Director as needed in completion of agency and program required monthly reports on time. Attend and participate in any training/meetings as required by the Agency and/or program. Contribute productively to the agency as a whole. Establish and maintain effective, respectful, and appropriate professional relationships with those who receive services, with those who we collaborate with, and receive funding from while promoting all Family Service Society’s services positively in the community. Adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines of your governing professional organization. Seek and use supervisor’s help; accepts supervision as helpful; portrays a positive professional attitude towards supervisory authority, requests, and organizational change; ability to recognize need for supervision and how it can be used for professional development, open to exploring own values and effects on own work, work collaboratively to set goals for professional and personal development. Participate as a team member; able to offer ideas, praise and constructive feedback; able to professionally accept feedback from other team members; promote resolution and positivity in attitude and relationships within the team and the agency. Attend events promoting Family Service Society’s services, meet with agencies and speak to organizations that may have a Family Service Society service need, and distribute Family Service Society’s service pamphlets to agencies. Perform other related duties as directed or required for the effective and efficient operation of the program as assigned by Clinical Director or Executive Director. Bachelor’s Degree required. Criminal background and reliable transportation is required. EOE.
